Clarence E. McClendon is a worldwide, respected voice to this generation. Not merely a television personality with a media imprint that extends from religious television to worldwide mainstream outlets, Bishop McClendon heralds a timely message of hope, reconciliation, and restoration that’s delivered with an engaging, passionate quality that has impacted thousands. Today, he’s called upon by diplomats, heads of state, celebrities, and private citizens for his wise counsel and poignant perspective, but Bishop McClendon’s ministry spans decades.

He first began pastoring at 19; he had already been preaching since he was 15 in Decatur, IL., his hometown. But it was in 1991 that the members of West Adams Foursquare Church welcomed then-Evangelist Clarence McClendon to the pastorate of their church. He’d begun to hone his skill and his passion for preaching and pastoring, and this pastoral appointment was a breakthrough moment.

Located in South Los Angeles on the corner of West Adams Boulevard and La Brea Avenue at the time, only a few dozen people gathered in the small wooden building on Sunday mornings. But it didn’t take long for word to spread that there was a young pastor whose prophetic message and vision were ablaze in LA’s inner city. As Pastor McClendon faithfully served the scant gathering of congregants there, he preached as if thousands were in attendance. And soon, thousands were present - and tuning in via television from around the world.

By 1993, West Adams Foursquare Church took a new name: Church of the Harvest. The congregation was multiplying and a new worship facility was built to accommodate over 8,000 weekly attendees. Today, Bishop McClendon is the Prophet and Teacher of The Place of Grace, a growing multi-ethnic congregation located in Los Angeles.

In 1997, Harvest Fire Media hit television airwaves for the first time and the international prophetic and apostolic ministry that had been cultivated for years from Illinois to California was now in millions of homes in hundreds of nations weekly. Harvest Fire Media continues to offer weekly and monthly international television broadcasts: “A Miracle for You” and “Your Time For Miracles,” in which Bishop McClendon shares the word of God and the message of Jesus Christ to more than 350 million homes throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. The Global Grace Network of Churches, Ministries and Entrepreneurs offers spiritual covering and accountability through the word of God and covenant ministry connections. His PrayerForce network and other ministry initiatives are designed to empower and strengthen the faith of those who participate in them.

These years of rapid advancement in ministry included his consecration as a bishop in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, headed by founder, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. He served as the Third Presiding Bishop of the organization for over a decade, where he was responsible for overseeing Regional Bishops throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. And his itinerant ministry is as strong as ever as he ministers at crusades and events in the United States and overseas.

His voice can be heard in groundbreaking spoken messages and books like The Healing Project, The X-Blessing and And When You Pray, and in the uplifting music produced by the ministry: Shout Hallelujah, featuring the Harvest Fire Mega Mass Choir, released on Integrity records in 2000 and spending nearly six months on Billboard’s gospel charts, peaking at no.9.

Bishop McClendon has also served as a member of the Do Something Foundation, a think-tank of America’s top young leaders, and as a Regent for California Faith-Based Initiatives. As a go-to source of wisdom regarding today’s most pressing societal issues, Bishop McClendon has appeared on the “CBS Evening News”, ABC’s “Nightline”, Black Entertainment Television, and “G’s to Gents” on MTV.

An esteemed spiritual leader for our time, Clarence E. McClendon continues to leave a lasting deposit into the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life through his enduring message of faith, wisdom, and spiritual revelation.
